If you are on Enterprise plan, you can configure lead to account matching for your Org.

What is lead to account matching?

Lead to Account matching enables you to associate incoming leads automatically with existing accounts in your CRM. Using this information, you can associate leads with existing account owners. For example: An Incoming lead with the company name Acme can be automatically linked to an existing account named Acme in your CRM and can be assigned to the account owner.

How to configure it with Power Router?

Configuring lead to match records settings can be done in different ways depending on how your Org is structured with Leads, Accounts & Contacts.  The options for configuration are –

  • Lead to Lead match
  • Lead to Account match
  • Lead to Contact match
  • Lead to Opportunity match

Before we go further, let’s discuss the algorithms Power Router supports for matching records.

Exact Match

As the name suggests, exact match algorithm tries to match incoming leads with records having the same company or domain name.

When you select exact match on company or domain for lead-to-account match, Power router will try to match the incoming leads based on an exact match of the company name or lead-domain with existing accounts in your CRM. The domain of the company is derived by Power router based on associated email domains.

Example:

If you have an existing account with the name Acme, an incoming lead with Company as Acme can be matched to the account owner of Acme.

Fuzzy Match

Fuzzy matching algorithm can intelligently connect leads to records by figuring out name variations & email variations for different records.

When you select fuzzy match on company, Power router will try to match incoming leads based on a fuzzy match of the company name with existing records in your CRM. The fuzzy match is based on existing account records and matching rules configured in your CRM to associate leads with the right names accounts.

Example:

If you have an existing account with the name Acme, an incoming lead with Company as Acme Inc or Acme Corp can be configured to match to the same account Acme and associate the lead with the account owner.

Another example would be Leads with email as johndoe@acme.com & maryjane@acme.co.uk can be configured to be associated with the same account Acme.

Lead to Account match

When you select Lead-to-Account match, Power router will try to match incoming leads with existing accounts in your CRM. You can configure exact match or fuzzy match to match leads to existing accounts.

Example:

Leads with email as johndoe@acme.com & maryjane@acme.co.uk can be configured to be associated with the same account Acme and be assigned to the account owner.

Lead to Lead Matching
Lead to Lead Matching enables you to associate incoming leads with existing leads in your CRM which have not yet been converted into accounts or contacts. This lets you associate leads coming in from the same company or domain to a previously assigned lead owner which creates a consistent experience for your customers.

Example:

If an old lead with company Acme was assigned to Adam Brett, you can configure power router to assign all leads with company Acme to Adam Brett without having an existing account.

Lead to Contact/Opportunity match

When you select Lead-to-Contact/Opportunity match, Power router will try to match incoming leads with existing accounts associated with the contacts or opportunities in your CRM. You can configure exact match or fuzzy match to match leads to account owner or respective contact/opportunity owner.

Example:

Leads with company name as Acme and a contact/opportunity related with Acme can be configured to be associated with the same account Acme and be assigned to the existing account or contact owner.
